Hey guys, it's me, IvanPlaysGames. Today I will teach you how to upgrade your farm tools including your fishing rod. This guide will cover 5 chapters as follows:

1. Overview
2. Upgrading your Tools
3. Cursed, Blessed, and Mythic Tools
4. Upgradeable Tools and its Abilities
5. Tips for Upgrading your Tools

Overview
Upgrading your tools increases their strength, area of effect, or giving new abilities allowing you to arrange and manage your farm much more efficiently, consuming less time in the long run.

The Player has 6 upgradeable tools which are:

1. Hoe
Used to till farm land to plant crops, till land in mines, and remove seed that are already planted

Used to cut off crops, grass, and weeds off your farm (each grass you cut gives 1 animal fodder for cow or sheep)

3. Axe
Used to chop branches and tree stumps

Used to smash stones in your farm, stones in mines, boulders, and tilled farm land

Used to water crops in your farm

6. Fishing Rod
Used to catch fish and other resource. You can obtain this tool by entering Zack's House in Mineral Beach with an empty tool slot in your rucksack.

Upgrading your Tools
Upgrading your tools require 3 resources: Tool skill, money, and ores. All tool levels except level 6 can be upgraded by bringing the tool you want to upgrade and the required ore to Saibara the Blacksmitth.

Cursed, Blessed, and Mythic Tools
Cursed tools are the level 6 tools. The player can obtain the cursed tools for hoe, sickle, axe, hammer, watering can, and fishing rod. These tools will be added but not replace your level 5 tools in your inventory. Cursed tools can only be obtained after you have all your tools upgraded to level 5. These tools can be obtained by digging land in lake mine. Lake mine can be accessed in Winter Season or by Teleport Stone

Cursed fishing rod    : Floor 29
Cursed hoe                : Floor 39
Cursed axe                : Floor 49
Cursed hammer        : Floor 59
Cursed watering can : Floor 69
Cursed sickle             : Floor 79

Cursed tools however cannot be unequipped unless you ask Carter in the church at confessional times to remove the curse. These tools also drain a lot of your energy, making you pass out just after a few uses. There is a way to remove the curse of these tools permanently by blessing them.

 2. Blessed Tools
Blessed tools are the level 6 tools, they are just as strong as the cursed tools but without the negative side effects I've mentioned earlier. Here are the ways to bless your cursed tools.
Cursed hoe or watering can    : Ask Carter to remove the curse 10 times, this will cost you 10.000 G .:
Cursed axe or fishing rod    : Use the tool 255 times, you can do this during festivals or heart events cause you can use your tools without draining your energy.
Cursed hammer or sickle        : Equip the tool for 10 days in a row.

3. Mythic Tools
Mythic tools are the level 7 tools, they are the most powerful tool levels in the game. You need mythic stones to upgrade your blessed tools to this level. Mythic stones can only be obtained after you have all your cursed tools blessed. They can be found by breaking stones in the spring mine at floor 60 and below. They are more common at floors that contain the goddess gems such as floor 60, 102, 123, 152, 155, 171, 190, 202, and 222.

Tips for Upgrading your Tools
Increasing Tool Skills
You can use your tools at any place and outside of their inteded purposes such as using watering can to water your crops. My tip is to got inside Spring Mine and use your tools untill you are exhausted (this is shown by your charachter's face turning blue) then enter the hot spring for 2-3 in game hours to regain energy. Do this again and again untill you increase your tool skill quickly.

Reducing Cost
You can jump levels when it comes to upgrading your tools. For example, you can upgrade your watering can from level 1 straight to level 5 which only costs you 5.000 G instead of 5.000 G plus the cost for level 2-4 which adds up to additional 6.000 G per tool. You need enough tool skill to upgrade to level 5 (Mystrile) however.
Mining Tips
Some of these higher level ores and the cursed tools require you to dig deep into the mine which takes energy by tilling lands to find stairs going down and breaking stones to clear up ways and obtaining these ores. You need high energy capacity by obtaining power berries and high energy recovery items such as bodigizer, turbojolt, bodigizer XL, turbojolt XL, or elli leaves to help you out.

You have 2 save slots and it is important to use them all to help you save energy and achieving your goal during your mining sessions. There are 2 ways to use these save slots to your advantage.

1. Save slots to locate stairs going down
You can locate the stairs going down by digging lands on each floor in the mine. The stair going down can be found at any tile except the tile in the 1 tile radius surrounding the stair going to the surface and the tiles on the borders of the mine. Make sure to save the game before trying to locate the stair going down and then after you locate the stair, load the game so you can find the stair while consuming less energy. Before you enter the stair going down, save the game so you can reload and have better luck in case the floor after that does not have a stair going down, ore, or the cursed tool you are looking for.

2. Save slots to delay a dialogue box
You can go down floors after floor 0 without consuming energy at all. You need 2 save slots for this method, follow these steps in order
  • At floor 0, locate the stair going down and reveal it.
  • Interact with the stair going down and it will you give two options "yes" or "no" to go down a floor. Choose no and the player will be pushed back a pixel from the stair. When this happens, don't move and save the game in slot 1 or 2, this will be used as your "setup" save file.
  • Take the stair going down and go down a floor, then save the game in slot 1 or 2 other than your "setup" save file. This will be used as your "mining" save file.
  • To go down a floor again without consuming your energy, load the "setup' save file. Now you must press the run button towards the stair going down and the menu button at the same time. You know you did it right if you see the player in the running state but the game is paused in the menu interface and you didn't see the dialogue box to go down a stair yet.
  • Whilst on the menu interface, load your your "mining" save file and if you did the previous steps right, you will be given a dialogue box to go down a stairs, say yes and you will go down a stair without digging a stair going down.
  • Save your game in the "mining" save file and repeat the previous 2 steps.
  • Do this repeatedly untill you reached your desired floor.
That wraps it up for this guide, thank you guys for reading this, if you have further question, feel free to ask me in the comment section :)
